This is a simple sum of your responses, not a validated clinical score or diagnostic cutoff. A higher total reflects more frequent endorsement of these items, but does not establish an auditory processing disorder. A qualified professional can help evaluate concerns.
This screener is designed to determine whether you demonstrate symptoms similar to those of Auditory Processing Disorder. A high score does not necessarily mean you have Auditory Processing Disorder or another disorder. That being said, if your score is 39-52, that means you answered "Often" or "Very Often" to most of the questions and should see a trained health care professional as there is a possibility that you may be experiencing symptoms of Auditory Processing Disorder. An accurate diagnosis can only be made through clinical evaluation.
This test was adapted from the symptoms of auditory processing disorder (APD) as described by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This is not a diagnostic tool. An accurate diagnosis can only be made through clinical evaluation. For personal use only. It is intended for people ages 18 and older.
